The Bündnis für Demokratie und Toleranz Treptow-Köpenick (Alliance for Democracy and Tolerance) is hosting its 20th annual Democracy Festival — a vibrant, community-driven open-air celebration that mixes live music, cultural performances, civic engagement, and family activities.
What to expect
This is not a political rally — it's a neighbourhood party with a message. Expect colourful stalls, local NGO stands, live acts, food, and plenty of conversation about what it means to live together in a diverse city. The 20th anniversary edition promises to be the biggest yet.
Who organises it
The festival is organised by the local civic alliance against extremism and discrimination in the Treptow-Köpenick district of Berlin — one of the city's longest-running grassroots democracy initiatives.
