Late May in Tempelhof means one thing: the Tempelhofer Hafenfest, the annual outdoor festival hosted by the Tempelhofer Hafen shopping center.
What to Expect
This is a feel-good neighborhood event with a harbor theme — despite being landlocked Berlin. Expect live music across multiple stages, food and drink stands, activities for kids, and the kind of easy, unpretentious summer party energy that makes you glad you stepped outside. It's organized by the shopping center but very much a local community celebration.
The venue itself — a converted former industrial building — gives the event a cool backdrop. The outdoor area fills up with families and locals from the Tempelhof and Neukölln area.
Why It's Worth Going
It's free, it's easy to get to, and it's the kind of spontaneous-feeling weekend event that expats often miss because it doesn't make international headlines. A perfect low-effort Saturday plan.
Getting There
U6 to Ullsteinstraße puts you right outside the Tempelhofer Hafen. From Neukölln or Kreuzberg it's just a few stops.
