Langer Tag der StadtNatur
Once a year, Berlin transforms into one giant nature classroom. Organized by the Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin since 2007, the Langer Tag der StadtNatur (Long Day of Urban Nature) is a city-wide festival dedicated to discovering the wild side of Berlin.
What to Expect
Over 500 events at more than 150 locations — all squeezed into a single 28-hour window. Think guided walks through urban forests, bird-watching tours along the Spree, insect discovery sessions in Tempelhof, community garden open days, and family-friendly nature workshops in parks you pass every day but never really see.
The beauty of this event is that it's completely decentralized — there's no single venue. Events pop up across every Kiez, from Mitte to Marzahn, meaning there's almost certainly something walkable or bikeable from wherever you live.
Who It's For
Families, curious adults, expats who want to explore the city beyond its clubs and museums — this is Berlin at its most surprisingly green. Most activities are free or very low cost.
Getting There
Events are spread city-wide. Check the official program on berlin.de to find activities near your nearest U-Bahn or S-Bahn stop.
